Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. The name of her parents was derived from the town she grew up in. The father of her Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder, who considers herself Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father. She is the younger sister of Uria and half-siblings Jubal and Sunyata. Ryder was born in the United States and moved with her family members to Mendocino County California at the age of seven. In those days, there were no electric lights. Ryder was a voracious reader and spent her time reading books because there was no TV. Ryder began to take acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre in 1983, when she was twelve years old. In 1986, she got her first major-screen appearance in the movie Lucas when she was just fifteen years old. Ryder endured bullying while in highschool. She hoped acting might change the situation. Unfortunately that didn't come to be. But she pushed on with her goals. It was 1988 in the year Tim Burton released Beetlejuice that was her breakthrough. Ryder continued to play successful roles in several movies. In 1993, she was awarded an Academy Prize in the film The Age of Innocence.
